Top mainstream trade magazines Daily Variety and The Hollywood Reporter ​​reported that over the weekend Maleficent became Angelina Jolie's top-grossing picture to date. "I've never desired to do a parody before but Maleficent was just the role to make me eager to step into the genre. I'm very excited about this release...so much so that I talked Axel into letting me keep the costume, which I plan to incorporate into a brand new feature dance show!"
