Television X Announce 4th Annual SHAFTA Nominations

TELEVISION X (http://televisionx.com/) today announces the nominations for the long anticipated 4th annual SHAFTA awards (http://www.shafta.xxx). Britain’s most popular adult TV channel, Television X, will host its annual Soft and Hard Adult Film and Television Awards (SHAFTA) on Thursday 5th December at Rise Superclub, No. 1 Leicester Square. This year the awards coincide with the channel’s 18th birthday and will celebrate the great and the good from the British adult industry from the last 18 years.

A wealth of top adult talent from the history of the channel will be recognised at this year’s ceremony from Gilly Sampson and Charmaine Sinclair who helped launch the channel back in 1995 to the top new starlets making waves in the UK adult scene such as Jess West and Samantha Bentley. Not to be outdone, the nominees for Male Performer feature some of the greatest UK talent. Omar, Ben Dover and Danny D have international careers and amongst them, the seven nominated studs have over 110 years of service to the adult industry!

The nominations also celebrate the extensive Television X library, showcasing some of the best home grown adult movies and series ever made here in the UK. For the first time Girl Girl and Amateur series have their own category and of course there’s the award that always gets the most attention Most Outrageous Series – this time focussing on grannies, gang bangs and transsexuals. All of the nominated series will be broadcast on Television X from 2nd November. If you’re into it, Television X will have it!

This year’s awards – known as the ‘UK Oscars of Porn’ – will have a fairground theme. Hosted by mega MILF and multiple SHAFTA winner Tanya Tate, she’ll be asking adult industry and celebrity guests to “Scream if they want to go faster!”

(LONDON, UK) With the UK’s largest awards ceremony, the SHAFTAs , around the corner Television X have announced that 2012 will see the launch of a new honorary Award – The Palm Phwoar! The award, which will recognise lifetime achievement and adult endeavors beyond the call of duty, will be awarded to Ben Dover at a lavish ceremony in the heart of London on Thursday 15th March.

Ben Dover’s career has spanned four decades and across the globe where he is known for his wry humour, comic sidekicks and ‘Gonzo’ style. A pioneer of the handheld camera porn genre, Ben Dover was one of the first signings to Television X when the channel launched back in 1995. He still continues to release films internationally and is one of the most successful UK performers of all time.

Ben Commented: “It’s an honour and a privilege to accept this award from my good friends at Television X. It’s astonishing to think I’ve been in this business for 33 years, and even more astonishing that I’m still working! I guess that kind of makes me the ‘Bruce Forsyth’ of the adult industry, and just like him I see no reason to stop doing what I do – although I promise not to start wearing a wig!!”

2012 sees the third annual ceremony for the Soft and Hard Adult Film and Television Awards, the only one of
its kind in which all the awards are voted on by the general public.

Also for the first time Television X will be streaming behind the scenes footage from the industry event on 15th March via www.SHAFTA.xxx. The SHAFTA Uncut show will be presented by Scouse super star Tanya Tate who will be getting up close and personal with the SHAFTA nominees and bringing fans all of the top gossip from the red carpet.
