Dana Vespoli Nominated for Best Director at 2014 XRCO Awards
Dana Vespoli may be one of the edgiest and most original directors in
the adult industry today, but that hasn’t slowed down the accolades from
the industry’s mainstream organizations.
She recently won Director of the Year – Non-Feature Release for
Girl/Boy (Dana Vespoli/Evil Angel) at the 2014 XBIZ Awards, and in
October she was named Best Director – Non-Parody (Editor’s Choice) at
the 2013 NightMoves Awards.
Now she is nominated for Best Director (Non-Features) at the 2014 XRCO Awards.
“While
I don’t shoot with these things in mind, it is always a great honor to
be considered with such a select group of people,” Dana said. “Whenever
you put so much of yourself into something it’s gratifying that other
people can find something in it for themselves as well.”
Dana released three movies this month: Mother Lovers Society 10
(Sweetheart Video), Femdom Ass Massacre: Extreme Humiliation (Dana
Vespoli/Evil Angel), and last week Lesbian Pussy Worship (Filly Films)
was released. Her next release is TS, I Love You (Evil Angel), which
comes out next month. It is her first-ever TS movie.
The 30th XRCO Awards will be held April 16
at OHM nightclub at the Hollywood & Highland complex in Hollywood.
The show will be hosted by Bonnie Rotten, Ron Jeremy and Julia Ann. For

Dana Vespoli Wins Director of the Year at 2014 XBIZ Awards
Dana Vespoli was the bust-out director of 2013 and over the weekend she
was recognized for some of her outstanding work with the trophy for
Director of the Year – Non-Feature Release at the 2014 XBIZ Awards.
Her groundbreaking release, Girl/Boy (Dana Vespoli/Evil Angel), earned her the prestigious award.
“I'm
very happy that Girl/Boy received recognition-—and that I won a
directing award for it,” Dana said. “That movie meant a lot to me.”
Released in early October, Dana said at the time that the movie came about because of Jiz Lee.
“Jiz
is neither a ‘she’ nor a ‘he,’” Dana explained. “Jiz is Jiz, and
refuses to be identified by gender pronouns, or be recognized as female
or male. It forces people to think when they address Jiz, and this
raised a question for me: How do we self identify? Do we leave it up to
society, or do we demand society recognize us on our own terms? I have
an enormous amount of admiration for Jiz, who chooses the latter.”
The voters had an enormous amount of admiration for Dana, handing her the important trophy.
In October Dana won Best Director – Non-Parody at the 2013 NightMoves Awards.

Dana Vespoli Receives 2014 XBIZ Awards Fan Nomination
When XBIZ rolled out their fan voting nominations this weekend
and Dana Vespoli scored yet another nomination despite there being no nomination
opportunities for directors, movies or specific scenes.
Dana scored a MILF Performer of the Year nom, bringing her current
nomination total to 25: 17 for the AVN Awards, 7 for the XBIZ Awards and one for
the Erotic Lounge Awards. She is clearly the breakout director of the year, with
an unbroken string of hits in 2013, Editor’s Choice reviews for every feature
she’s released this year, and an incredible and diverse collection of
nominations.
Not only is she being nominated for her directing and performing, but for
technical aspects of her work as well. AVN nominated Dana for Best Screenplay,
Best Editing and Best Music Soundtrack for Forsaken.
She also is being recognized for all types of different scenes: Best Double
Penetration Sex Scene, Best Three-Way Sex Scene, Best Boy/Girl Sex Scene, Best
POV Sex Scene, Best Safe Sex Scene. She has movies up for Best Wall-to-Wall
Release, Best Drama, All-Girl Release of the Year and Gonzo Release of the Year.
She has Best Director nominations for both Feature and Non-Feature.
Dana is clearly having more success in more areas than any other single
person in the industry. Each of her releases is different from the last,
sometimes drastically so. Just look at her releases since October:

Dana Vespoli’s Back in Black Releases This Week
NightMoves 2013 Best Director Dana Vespoli is in Europe this week, but it’s not all vacation time for the hardest working woman in the adult business.
The scene with Manuel Ferrara and Jiz Lee from her most recent hit,
Girl/Boy, is being screened at the Erotic Film Festival in Berlin. She also shot
two scenes while in town, finishing an Evil Angel movie that she had begun
shooting in L.A.
“Berlin was wonderful,” she said. “The movie features the incomparable Dana
DeArmond, newcomer Natasha Voya, Ramon Nomar, stunning Bree Daniels, myself,
Steve Holmes and Euro girls Sexi Susi and Misha Cross.”
Back herein the states, one of Dana’s most anticipated movies of the year
is being released, Dana Vespoli’s Back in Black. In this title she stars in
every scene, working with a well-hung list of talent: Valentina Nappi, Nat
Turnher, Prince Yahshua, Mark Anthony, Sean Michaels and Shane Diesel.
“It’s a movie a lot of people have asked to see,” Dana said. “As a
performer, it’s as intense as anything I’ve shot all year and it’s going to more
than satisfy fans wanting to see me do interracial or who just want to see me in
hot, super-hard scenes. It works on all levels.”
This week she is shooting Lesbian Beauties: Black Beauties for Sweetheart
and next
week will be working on Lexi Belle Loves Girls.

Sovereign Syre Finishes Shooting ‘Girls in Heat’ This Week
Sovereign Syre is wrapping up her sophomore directorial work,
Girls in Heat, this week with a sexy scene featuring Dana Vespoli. Sovereign
feels like everyone really delivered in the movie for Filly Films, which will
star Vanessa Veracruz, Reena Sky, Roxy Lotus/Natasha Malkova, Aaliyah Love,
Dana, Ela Darling and Keira Kelly.
Once Girls in Heat is in the can she’ll be heading out to New York City
where she’ll be working on a movie for Juicy Pink Box/Jincey Lumpkin.
“Jincey only produces a movie or so a year and they are beautiful little
gems of editorial style lesbian erotica,” Sovereign says. “I'm really happy to
get this chance to work with her.”
She is slated to work with Jiz Lee, who she loves, and April O'Neil, who
she has wanted to work with since she came into the industry two years
ago.
“I met April on the set of my third movie and have been trying to get in a
scene with her ever since,” says Sovereign.
This past week she filmed a girl/girl scene for Manuel Ferrara, a two-day
shoot that allowed her to “do some things I’d never done before,” making for a
good time that she looks forward to seeing when it releases in September. “I was
really happy with my performance and to be a part of something that is going to
be really cool.”
In the new release section of your favorite retailer look for Sovereign
Syre’s Lesbian Surrender from Filly Films and next week Girl Candy Films will
release Luscious Lesbians: Exploring Siri, directed by Nica Noelle.
Sovereign starred in a pair of movies up for Best All Girl Release at the
NightMoves Awards. She is in Girl Crush 3 (Club 59/Elegant Angel) with Dani
Daniels, and Lesbian Masseuse 2 (Girl Candy Films), with Asa Akira. The girls
