Bonnie Rotten Named Queen of Porn
Bonnie Rotten has been honored as the First-Ever Must-See-Director by Dr. Jay at XCritic.
The writer came out of retirement last year just to write about Bonnie in a revival of his long-running Must-See Girls feature last January. Now he’s writing about something he never thought he would – hear amazingness as a director.
“Bonnie's body of work demonstrates, once and for all, that she is the reigning Queen of Porn,” he writes. “Frankly, when I first heard that Bonnie was going to direct some films, I yawned and thought of all the other fantastic in-front-of-the-camera porn stars who ventured into directing and flopped. I feel sorry for the many girls I know who have gone down the director road in order to stay relevant in the business and, frankly, hadn't a clue what to do behind the camera.”
The doctor says he expected Bonnie to flop and admits his mistake, calling her movies of 2014 “outstanding.”
“Each of Bonnie's 2014 movies simply must be on your wish list,” he writes.
Bonnie’s Editor’s Choice for Cape Fear XXX is in the January issue of AVN, obviously filled with kind words about the director and the movie, with Mark Kernes saying her “send-up of DeNiro is nearly perfect.”
The movie scored 6 nominations for the 2015 AVN Awards, including Best Actress, Best Director – Parody and Best Parody for director/star Bonnie. It is also up for Best Screenplay – Parody (DCypher), Best Supporting Actor (Alec Knight) and Best Supporting Actress (Chanel Preston).
She was interviewed for a Daily Beast story about the past year and talked about the biggest thing to happen to her, which she said was launching her production company, Mental Beauty.
“It’s been a large crazy adventure for me this year,” she says. “I have learned a lot about productions and the abilities I have in this realm. In 2015 I am looking forward to working with more people in the industry and doing crazier and crazier scenes! Also testing my abilities as a director and producer to create content that people love.”
Bonnie stars in Rocco’s Perfect Slaves 6 (Rocco Siffredi/Evil Angel) and CFNM 2 (Brazzers), both available this week.
